Small bungalow.
Big evening energy.
The Beach Bum is a single-level, two-bedroom bungalow on a quiet residential block, built for the way you actually want to vacation at the shore. No stairs, no fuss, beach first.
Everything is on one level: two bedrooms (a queen and a twin that doubles as a desk), one bathroom, and a bright open kitchen, living and dining room. Quartz counters, a stainless gas range, a Keurig and drip coffee maker under the “COFFEE FOREVER” sign, central air and heat, in-unit washer and dryer, Verizon FiOS wifi, and self check-in with your own keypad code.
Outside is where the evening actually happens. A paver patio with a dining set and umbrella, lounge seating, string lights that flip on at sunset, a fire pit for s’mores, and a gas grill. Your own paver driveway means you’re not circling the block for street parking, either.
And then Belmar starts. Three and a half blocks to the boardwalk. A five-minute walk to F St, Anchor Tavern, Marina Grille, Pier 9 and 10th Ave Burrito on Main Street. Under a mile to the Marina and the inlet for sunset.

Your own driveway
Belmar street parking gets tight in July. This house has its own paver driveway, so that’s one thing you never have to think about.
Three beach badges
Belmar charges for the beach, $12 a day for anyone 14 and up. Three seasonal badges live in the house. Kids 13 and under are free anyway.
Three and a half blocks to the sand
The boardwalk is a 5 to 15 minute walk. Main Street’s restaurants and bars are a five minute walk the other way.
The patio and fire pit
Full pavers, a dining set, an umbrella, string lights, and a fire pit for s’mores after the beach. This is where the evening happens.
Beach gear that’s already here
Chairs are in the house. Load up, walk down, walk back. No hauling folding chairs from Pennsylvania on the roof of the car.
A real desk in the twin room
Solid-wood desk, office chair, natural light, and FiOS. The third guest sleeps here; the rest of the trip, it’s a workspace.

Everything worth driving to
is barely worth driving to.
Belmar sits in the middle of the good stretch of the Jersey Shore. Spring Lake, Ocean Grove, Asbury Park and Point Pleasant are all inside twenty-five minutes, which is why guests keep telling us they never moved the car (or, in this case, never had to circle for a spot to move it back into).
Belmar Beach & the Boardwalk
The reason you came. A mile of guarded sand, a boardwalk that runs the length of it, and the Belmar Marina down on the inlet for sunset. Your three badges are already in the house — no queue at the badge stand on your first morning.
Spring Lake
The quiet one. Two miles of non-commercial boardwalk with no arcades and no bars on it, a lake with swans, and the kind of front porches people photograph. Go for the morning walk, come back for coffee.
Asbury Park & the Stone Pony
Where the night goes. The Stone Pony still books real shows, the boardwalk has been rebuilt into something worth the walk, and Convention Hall anchors the north end. Close enough to go on a whim, far enough that you sleep through it.
Ocean Grove & the Great Auditorium
A Victorian tent colony that never quite left the 1870s, wrapped around a 6,000-seat wooden auditorium with an organ worth hearing. Ten minutes and about a century from Asbury Park, which shares its border.
Manasquan Inlet
Where the river meets the ocean and the whole town turns out to watch boats run the jetty. Walk the inlet path, eat something fried, stay for the light going down over the water.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk
The full boardwalk apparatus — aquarium, arcade, rides, mini golf, funnel cake. This is the rainy-afternoon card, and the one that buys you an evening when the beach is not an option.

Worth knowing before you book
- Maximum three guests. No exceptions: it’s a queen, a twin, and one bathroom.
- One bathroom for the whole house.
- This bungalow sits on the same lot as our other Belmar house next door. You may see those guests coming and going; the paver patio and driveway are yours.
- Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM, out of respect for the neighbors.
- No pets, and no smoking or vaping anywhere inside or on the patio.
- No parties or events.
- Self check-in with your own keypad code, any time after 4:00 PM.
- A point of contact and a signed rental agreement are required before booking. Early check-in or late checkout are available for purchase, just ask.
