A Shore Thing is a modern two-bedroom on a quiet residential block — the kind of street where the loudest thing at ten at night is somebody’s screen door.
Everything is on one level. Two bedrooms, one bath, an open kitchen and living room, and an office at the back with french doors onto the patio. Central air and heat, which at the shore is not a given. In-unit washer and dryer, quartz counters, a gas range, fast FIOS, and a smart lock with your own code — so you let yourself in whenever you land.
The patio is where the house earns its keep. Full pavers, six chairs, an umbrella, and a gas grill. Sand comes off out there, dinner happens out there, and the string lights make it the last room you leave.
And then Belmar starts. Three and a half blocks east is the sand and the boardwalk. Three and a half blocks the other way is Main Street — Offshore for coffee, Klein’s for fish, the Windmill, 10th Ave Burrito, Anchor Tavern, the Marina for sunset. You are not choosing between the beach and the town. That is the whole point of the address.

Six beach badges
Belmar charges for the beach — $12 a day for anyone 14 and up, or $80 for the season. Six seasonal badges live in the house. Kids 13 and under are free anyway.
Three and a half blocks, both ways
The ocean is a five to fifteen minute walk east. Main Street is the same walk the other direction. Most Belmar houses give you one or the other.
The patio
Full pavers, a table for six, an umbrella, and a gas grill. French doors open onto it from the office. This is where the evening happens.
Beach gear that’s already here
Chairs and beach towels are in the house. Load up, walk down, walk back. No hauling folding chairs from Pennsylvania on the roof of the car.
A kitchen you’d actually cook in
Quartz counters, gas range, full-size fridge, dishwasher. Coffee, tea, spices and the basics are stocked. Guests write about this more than anything else.
The office, which is also a bedroom
Raised desk, natural light, FIOS, and french doors onto the patio. The sofa pulls out to a queen — which is how the sixth guest sleeps in a two-bedroom house.

Everything worth driving to
is barely worth driving to.
Belmar sits in the middle of the good stretch of the Jersey Shore. Spring Lake, Ocean Grove, Asbury Park and Point Pleasant are all inside twenty-five minutes — which is why guests keep telling us they never moved the car.
Belmar Beach & the Boardwalk
The reason you came. A mile of guarded sand, a boardwalk that runs the length of it, and the Belmar Marina down on the inlet for sunset. Your six badges are already in the house — no queue at the badge stand on your first morning.
Spring Lake
The quiet one. Two miles of non-commercial boardwalk with no arcades and no bars on it, a lake with swans, and the kind of front porches people photograph. Go for the morning walk, come back for coffee.
Asbury Park & the Stone Pony
Where the night goes. The Stone Pony still books real shows, the boardwalk has been rebuilt into something worth the walk, and Convention Hall anchors the north end. Close enough to go on a whim, far enough that you sleep through it.
Ocean Grove & the Great Auditorium
A Victorian tent colony that never quite left the 1870s, wrapped around a 6,000-seat wooden auditorium with an organ worth hearing. Ten minutes and about a century from Asbury Park, which shares its border.
Manasquan Inlet
Where the river meets the ocean and the whole town turns out to watch boats run the jetty. Walk the inlet path, eat something fried, stay for the light going down over the water.
Jenkinson's Boardwalk
The full boardwalk apparatus — aquarium, arcade, rides, mini golf, funnel cake. This is the rainy-afternoon card, and the one that buys you an evening when the beach is not an option.

Worth knowing before you book
- Everyone in the group must be 30 or older, or accompanied by an adult. This is not a party house and we hold the line on it.
- Maximum six guests. No exceptions — it’s a two-bedroom.
- One bathroom. Fine for a family of four; worth a thought at six.
- On-street parking only, first-come first-served. The driveway belongs to the neighboring unit.
- The backyard is shared with the unit next door and isn’t fully fenced. The paver patio is yours.
- No pets, and no smoking anywhere in the house.
- Self check-in with your own smart-lock code, any time after 4:00 PM.
- Direct bookings complete a short rental agreement and a $500 refundable card hold before arrival instructions go out.
